Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial. When my nephew (Avery) said he had a nail product for me to review I was excited because lately I have been on a search to find the trick to the perfect at home manicure. The product he gave for me to review is called Nailcones. They come in really cute product packaging, and while I admire cute things I do lookout for cute but not functional things. You know, beauty but no brains.
So does this product have brains?
The purpose of the Nailcones is to protect the sides of your fingers from nail polish, a very good thought since that is one of the challenges of a diy manicure. The sheet of stickers come in different sizes to apply to each of your fingers.
So the question is did it protect my sides?
I decided to test the product by applying the product to only one of my nails so I could have an A/B type of testing. While it protected my pinky finger I felt like my non protected fingers turned out okay as well. So is the product worth it? Perhaps if you have a very shaky hand and find it really difficult to apply polish without it getting all over your fingers then Nailcones could help. While the stickers come in different sizes I imagine getting them to place just right could be an issue for some. Also, what about the bottom cuticle area of your nails?
In my search for the perfect diy nail manicure I’ve stumbled upon a simple trick to clean up your manicure and it is to simply stick a qtip (a beauty qtip works better) in 100% acetone and clean up the excess finger nail polish off your fingers.
While Nailcones is a thoughtful product I don’t think they are necessary.
